Pennine Lancahire's leaders are confident that a new joint committee will help boost the area's economy.
The new PLACE committee met for the first time this morning.
Ribble Valley Council Leader Michael Ranson is delighted with the steps taken today, "I think this is a tremendous thing that we've done to get all the Pennine Lancashire authorities talking to each other and working together because if you'd tried to do this five years ago this wouldn't have happened so I'm delighted."
Blackburn with Darwen Council Leader Michael Lee says the first meeting was very productive, "we need to ensure that we don't all look to our own area because it's all about looking at the bigger picture."
